Open Heart Surgery or
‘Natural Bypass?’
Bruce opted for the latter—with remarkable results!
After completing a course of EECP, which is often referred to as a “natural bypass”, Bruce took the treadmill stress test he had previously failed—and passed with flying colors.
Bruce Wheeler, Jr., DDS — Red Bluff, CA
“When I experienced left arm pain, I related it to muscle strain. But when it persisted, I finally mentioned it to my doctor who was suspicious it might be angina. He scheduled a treadmill stress test—which I failed, big time.
“They took me to the emergency medical clinic in an ambulance where I underwent a heart cathardarization. The cardiologist told me that multiple arteries were 70%-90% blocked, making me ineligible for a stint. He diagnosed that I have no choice but to have open-heart surgery right away or risk having a heart attack at any moment.
“Surgery was not an option for me. I knew that there were risk factors involved with this type of procedure—some people don’t even make it out of the operating room alive! I needed to get my affairs in order, do my research, and find an alternative. So I signed a waiver and left—against their advice and in spite of being told I was ‘stupid’ and ‘reckless.’
“I proved those doctors wrong. Within weeks of arriving at the Whitaker Wellness Institute and undergoing EECP and other natural therapies, I took another stress test—and passed with flying colors! The local cardiologist I had seen initially was very impressed with the progress I had made. Dr. Whitaker and the dedicated staff at Whitaker Wellness have done such a great job that I’m going to be an ambassador for this treatment from now on.”
What is EECP and how can it help me or a loved one?
Enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) is a nonsurgical therapy with incredible benefits for the cardiovascular system. Developed at Harvard University more than 50 years ago, EECP is sometimes referred to as a “natural bypass” because it stimulates the formation of collateral circulation, or new blood vessels, around clogged arteries. As a result, it effectively reduces angina and shortness of breath and improves exercise tolerance in patients with heart disease or heart failure. It also enhances arterial health and boosts circulation to organs and tissues throughout the body. Therefore, EECP is also extremely beneficial for patients with high blood pressure, neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetic complications, and a multitude of other conditions.
