Brain Health Assessment for Depression

shutterstock_95732242 lowAre you concerned that you may be experiencing symptoms of depression? Are you currently taking prescription medications to treat depression? Major depression is marked by an extreme emotional pain and an inability to function, which merits treatment. Many people who feel sad, blue, or down in the dumps are simply reacting to the challenges, losses, and occasionally unpleasant events of life. It’s normal to experience these feelings when you’re going through trying circumstances—but that doesn’t mean you have a disease that necessitates treatment with side effect-riddled drugs.

This quick and easy test can provide you with a general perspective about what you may be experiencing and offer a springboard for seeking help, if needed. Complete the information below and click on “Start Quiz.”

This assessment is based on the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), a 21-item test presented in multiple-choice format, which measures presence and degree of depression in adolescents and adults. It is not intended as a diagnostic instrument. It is used mostly as a screening instrument and for clinical research.
