GI Problems Cured

The doctors at the Whitaker Wellness Institute are the best I have ever met and were able to correct or cure most of our GI problems with natural vitamins, diet, and exercise without any of the toxic side effects that we got with prescription drugs.

Off Drugs for GERD

I’ve had hypertension and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) for several years, along with problems with my weight. Over the years I tried several drugs for both conditions, and when I went to Whitaker Wellness I was taking Nexium for GERD and a blood pressure drug.

Now I am off all meds, my blood pressure is within normal limits, and I have no GERD symptoms. I’ve lost my ‘pudge’ plus 21 pounds. My diet has improved dramatically. I used to crave sweets but don’t now, and I do a lot of physical labor on my rental properties.

Irritable Bowel Symptoms Cleared Up

My irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, and flatulence were so bad I was afraid to walk into a store. When the drug my GP put me didn’t help, he said, “I don’t know what to do for you.” So I went to the Whitaker Wellness Institute. Now here I am, 77 years young and 18 pounds lighter, and I feel like a young chick again. I have nothing but praise for your clinic.

Improvements in Crohn’s Disease

My son was in an automobile accident in April 2009. Because the car was hit on his side, he was transferred to a trauma center where they performed several tests, one of which was a cat scan. Prior to the accident, he was in good health, aside from an occasional stomach ache. After a long and scary night in the hospital, we were sent home with a copy of the scan to show our pediatrician.

After talking to our son’s doctor, he thought the stomach pains could be appendicitis. Then came the dreaded news from the pediatric surgeon that it looked like Crohn’s disease. I began reading everything I could get my hands on regarding the disease. We attempted conventional treatment with a doctor at a prominent children’s hospital but her methods of healing involved hammering my son’s body immensely and it made no sense to me.

I started my son on a regimen of probiotics, glutamine, Vitamin C and fish oil. And in July 2009, we had our first appointment at the Whitaker Wellness Institute. Our physician there fine-tuned the supplements, did an exam, and suggested we start him on low-dose Naltrexone (LDN). Initially we were unsure of LDN because it’s a pharmaceutical and we’re not pill people in my house. But after more research I found an Internet group for LDN. People from all over the world are on this site, asking questions and getting answers and sharing valuable information.

Finally, in March of 2010, we chose to try the LDN along with vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, strong probiotics, B-complex vitamins, glutamine, and a high dose of iron in a food-based multivitamin. We also switched to a mostly gluten-free diet at home—the best we could with a teenage boy. Four months later, at the end of July, we had my son’s blood work done. The numbers were fabulous.

To date he is growing normally, has no stomach pains, has more energy, and is healthier than anyone I know. We will continue to monitor his blood and watch his diet and hope for continued success. The last 18 months have been a growing and learning time for us and we are better for it. I thank God every day for the Whitaker Wellness Institute.

No More Heartburn

J.S. had a hiatal hernia with severe acid reflux for years. He was prescribed a drug that stopped his reflux, but caused abdominal pain. We recommended that he give deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) a try, and within six hours his pain disappeared. He threw out the drug, started taking two DGL tablets before each meal and at bedtime, and he remains symptom-free years later.
